My  daily walk takes me by this hillside.  The slope is stabilized by assorted large rocks of volcanic basalt.  The black stone hosts fascinating variety of mosses and tiny plants.  The changing seasons transform the colors and textures of  the whole community.  In this small work I tried to capture the feel of  life renewed by the onset of our cool damp fall rains.
