A plein air painting of a golden summer afternoon and evening spent overlooking a small cove off Deception Pass, looking toward Whidbey Island, WA. Several sailboats came briefly and went as I worked. (Maybe subjects for a future work?) As the sun lowered, the wind dropped and the water became a near perfect mirror. I was left alone with one tiny anchored boat and an intrepid canoeist in the distance. I am sure we were both enraptured by the brilliant golden light.
